MODIFICACIÓN DE LOS AURICULARES VIC FIRTH SHI1

En alguna entrevista a Simon Phillips he leido: " Llevo haciendo agujeros en mis baterías desde que tenía 14 años."

Pues seguiremos además uno de mis hábitos favoritos:

"Hágalo usted mismo."

He cambiado los altavoces del VIC FIRTH por los de un SENNHEISER HD 205. Con un poco de corte, soldadura y pegado...

Con ésta modificación se conserva lo bueno de los VIC FIRTH y se mejora lo "mejorable":

VENTAJAS DEL VIC FIRTH:

- Buena INSONORIZACIÓN; no extrema, pero muy buena.

- El SONIDO DIRECTO que recibes de la batería es muy agradable, pareciendo que la batería está ecualizada (sin enchufar los VF)

- DURABILIDAD: Todas sus partes son robustas y muy duraderas.

- COMODIDAD.

PUNTOS DÉBILES DEL VIC FIRTH:

- ALTAVOCES de baja calidad.

- Mala respuesta en GRAVES. Casi imposible escuchar decentemente el sonido del bombo.

- Bajo VOLUMEN si conectas un reproductor portátil (Iphone, mp3...)

AHORA CON LA MODIFICACIÓN:

- Mejora del sonido general, mejor definición y sin la necesidad de un volumen alto.

- Muy buena respuesta en graves. Ahora puedo escuchar el bombo, cuando toco con todo mezclado a través de ellos.

- Puedo enchufar cualquier reproductor directamente y tocar sobre la música con mucho mejor sonido.

- Un excelente sonido general, gracias a los altavoces del Sennheiser HD 205 (50 euros)

MODIFICATION OF THE VIC FIRTH SHI1:

I read on some Simon Phillips´s interview : “I have been drilling holes in drums since I was about 14 years old..."
Well, I´ve followed one of my favourite habits too… Do It Yourself.

I´ve modified my VIC FIRTH SIH1 headphones, changing its drivers for a new ones.

I´ve mounted the drivers of a Sennheiser HD 205 on the VF, with some cutting, connectors soldering, etc…

With this modification, I´ve maintained the GOOD of the VF and improved the "NO SO GOOD":

PROS OF THE VIC FIRTH:

- ISOLATION, not extreme, but very good.
- The BEAUTIFUL DIRECT SOUND that I get from my drums (The drums seems to be equalized, without plugging the headphones).
- The STRONG CONSTRUCTION and durability of all the VF parts.

- COMFORT.

WEAK POINTS OF THE VIC FIRTH:

- Low qualitiy of its DRIVERS.

- Low BASS response. Hard to hear well the bass drum.

- Low VOLUME if you plug a portable player (iphone, mp3...)
 

WITH THE MODIFICATION:
- EXCELLENT SOUND, thanks to the new drivers of the Sennheiser (50 €), with no need to a high volume.

- When I play with all mixed (headphones plugged on the mixer), I can HEAR THE BASS DRUM with a real sound,
- I can just PLUG AND PLAY directly over any player, with a very nice feel (with the original drivers it wasn´t possible)

Preparados para la batalla, pero con mucho mejor sonido l Ready for the fight, but with much better sound quality
